What is the registration fee for PRVille 2017 – the Sunshine District Conference at Sea?
Your conference registration is included in the Royal Caribbean cruise fare. Pricing is based on the stateroom category you select:
- Interior: $826.50
- Ocean View (partially obstructed view): $978.50
- Ocean View (unobstructed view): $1,016.50
- Junior Suite: $2,160.50
These prices are Cabin Totals (based on double occupancy) and include all taxes and port charges. Pay the price shown and enjoy a private stateroom, or bring a guest and they essentially sail FREE! You may also choose to share a stateroom with a colleague and split the Cabin Total. (Let us know if you need a roommate and we can help match you.) For an even better value, add a third or fourth guest to your stateroom at a reduced rate (based on triple/quad stateroom availability). Contact our Cruise Planner, Tim Dodson, for details.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes. You will pay a deposit ($200 per stateroom or $400 per suite) at the time of registration. You may split the balance into as many payments as you like between now and the final payment deadline of April 9. Our Cruise Planner will process your credit/debit card payments per your desired schedule. To request this option, simply add a note at the end of your registration form.
I found a cheaper rate for the same cruise or a better room. Can I book that instead?
No. You cannot register via your personal travel agent, a discount cruise site or the Royal Caribbean website. PRVille has arranged for special rates and blocked our stateroom accommodations which are inclusive of both the conference and your stateroom. If you book the cruise via any other method, you are not registered for the conference and will not be admitted to conference events.
We have blocked four stateroom categories that should suit most travel tastes and needs. To provide the best value, we have reserved a mix of inside and ocean view rooms. (Note that Majesty of the Seas offers balconies only in the suite categories.)
How will the charge appear on my credit card?
Your credit card will be charged by Royal Caribbean.
What is the cancellation/refund policy?
Your stateroom deposit is fully refundable up until the final payment deadline of April 9. Once final payment has been made, the following cancellation fees apply:
Days prior to sailing Cancellation Fee Deadline
74 to 43 $100.00 per guest 10 Apr 2017
42 to 29 50% per guest 12 May 2017
28 to 15 75% per guest 26 May 2017
14 to 0 100% per guest 9 Jun 2017
Travel insurance can help protect your investment. Our Cruise Planner will offer a quote for Worldwide Travel Protection from Allianz when your booking is processed.
What if my company won’t reimburse me because the conference is on a cruise ship?
Did you see our messaging that helps you convince the boss? If that doesn’t work, we can arrange for you to pay PRSA North Florida Chapter. The chapter will issue you an invoice, process your payment and then pay Royal Caribbean on your behalf. If you choose this option, the full conference registration fee is due at the time of booking. Add a note at the bottom of your conference registration form to request special billing.
Can I register after the April 8 deadline?
Deposits are due by April 8. Final payment is due by April 9. After April 9, any unreserved staterooms in our block will be released to general inventory, but you can still register for the conference at Royal Caribbean’s prevailing rates. Our Cruise Planner will quote new rates and book your reservation.
Can my reservation be transferred to somebody else?
Names on the reservation can be changed up until the final payment deadline.
How do I get to Port Canaveral?
For most Floridians, Port Canaveral is within an easy drive of half a day or less:
- From Jacksonville: 2 h 21 min
- From Orlando: 51 min
- From Tampa: 1 h 58 min
- From Naples: 4 h 6 min
- From Fort Lauderdale: 2 h 55 min
- From Miami: 3.5 h
Consider carpooling with some of your fellow chapter members to share fuel and parking expenses — plus, it’s fun! We recommend you time your drive so you arrive at the port by 10:30 a.m., allowing you plenty of time to board, have lunch and relax a bit before the opening session at 1:30 p.m.
If you are flying into Orlando International Airport, there are numerous options for shuttle service. Royal Caribbean’s shuttle ($75 round-trip or $37.50 one-way) ensures that your luggage is transferred from the airport straight to your stateroom on the ship. To take the Royal Caribbean shuttle, your flight to Orlando must arrive by noon on Friday and your return flight must leave no earlier than 1 p.m. on Monday. Advance booking is required; contact Tim Dodson, our Cruise Planner.
If you are flying, we strongly recommend arriving the day before to avoid any same-day airline snafus. Some hotels near the port offer packages that include airport-to-hotel and/or hotel-to-cruise-port transfers.
Is parking available at the port?
Yes, a very large parking garage serves Terminal 1, from which most Royal Caribbean cruises depart. Port parking for a three-day cruise costs a flat $64, tax included, and may be purchased in advance. See the port’s website for more parking details. Lower-priced, off-site parking is also available nearby; you can park and then take a shuttle to the cruise terminal.
Are other stateroom categories available?
Yes. If you are interested in a stateroom type that is not included in our room block, please contact our Cruise Planner.
When do we leave/return?
The ship sails from Port Canaveral, Florida, at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23. We highly recommend you arrive at the port by mid-morning so you can check in/board, explore the ship, enjoy lunch and pick up your conference registration packet in our hospitality center.
The ship should return to Port Canaveral by 7 a.m. on Monday, June 26. While disembarkation times can vary, you will likely be off the ship, through customs and back to your car in the garage by 9:30-10 a.m. at the latest.
Do I need a passport?
A passport is always recommended for international travel for the protections it offers you as a U.S. citizen. However, because this is a closed-loop cruise (meaning it begins and ends and the same U.S. port), you may travel with proof of citizenship (such as a government-issued birth certificate) and a laminated government issued picture ID denoting photo, name and date of birth. Before you travel, please review Royal Caribbean’s detailed passport guidelines.
Will I have internet access or cell service onboard?
Yes, internet access and cell service are both available for a fee. Please refer to our post about conference costs. Bear in mind you will have your usual internet and phone access until the ship sails at 4 p.m. on Friday. The next day, in Nassau, there’s a Starbucks near the port and plenty of other venues offering free internet access. Your regular mobile reception should resume shortly before we return to port at 7 a.m. on Monday.
See this informative blog post for details about cellular service. We recommend you turn off roaming during the cruise to avoid charges.
We think one of the greatest things about this year’s conference agenda is the Friday to Monday schedule – hopefully the boss and the clients can live without your immediate response for the weekend.
Who else will be onboard?
Majesty of the Seas will be on her regularly scheduled weekend voyage. The PRVille conference is taking place alongside other guests on their vacations. The PRVille conference sessions will be in reserved, private venues.
What should I pack?
Plan on Resort Casual dress for most of our conference events. The ship will have its usual Formal Night and we will also likely have a special cocktail party for our group, so feel to bring cocktail attire you wish, though it is certainly not mandatory. You might also need shorts and/or a swimsuit for your (minimal) free time. See further guidance from the Royal Caribbean blog.
